Thatch Master

Thatchmaster specializes in any thatch construction, new second layers to thatch roofs and thatch repairs. Thatchmaster also does roof conversions with Safintra Steel sheets, Harvey Tile & Onduline Tiles. We also build complete entertainment areas with built-in braais, fire places, or whatever the need may be for a client. We also do alterations and additional building work to thatch roofs, large or small.

Thatchmaster has now also gone further to build and close thatch roofs, depending on what the client requires, with a light steel tile known as Metrotile and steel sheeting manufactured by Safintra, which is a combination between zink and aluminium.

Thatchmaster was formed in 1992 in Durban, by Christo Fick, who is still the sole member. The staff that started with the business was all recruited in the rural Midlands / Drakensburg area, for their specialised skills and workmanship and some are still working with Thatchmaster. We have professional experience and a focused service delivery is one of our major priorities.

Thatchmaster is a member of the Thatchers Association of South Africa with membership number 036. We are also registered with the National Home Builder Registration Council N.H.B.R.C. of South Africa with membership number 6049. Thatchmaster complies with all standards of work as specified in the National Building Regulations. All our timber is CCA treated and SABS approved. Our grass is always of the best quality. Thatchmaster is a professional business entity that conducts business within the framework of the code of conduct.

We are currently assessing and serving on several Corporate Insurance Companies, as well as various Loss Adjusters panels, in Durban and in the greater KZN region.

Our business conducts various types of projects, for example:

• Construct full house roofs.
• Construct extensions to house roofs, cottages and whatever the need is.
• Houses are re-thatched and there are also smaller jobs such as the building of gazebos.

Roof Conversions

• Due to current demands from clients in the market Thatchmaster also includes roof conversions as part of the services.
